American Clay walls create comfort, beauty and environmentally sound interior spaces. With 43 standard colors, our fade resistant, non molding, Zero VOC formulations can produce untold textures and surfaces for any wall or ceiling.

Application is either through artisan level old world troweling, spray-on technology or DIY hands on talent.

We formulated and patented a manufactured wall finish which uses the lowest carbon footprint per pound of any commercially available wall finish. Based on ancient materials, American Clay's color integral architectural mineral coatings utilize reclaimed and 100% naturally occurring materials to produce color consistent, beautiful interior finishes.

In addition to having a product which has the lowest carbon footprint per pound of any manufactured wall finish, we have minimized the environmental impact of American Clay products in every step. We can contribute up to 8 LEED credits: MR Prerequisite I: 1 point: Storage & Collection of Recyclables Required: Provide an area that is dedicated to collection and storage of non hazardous materials for recycling.

All American Clay packaging is recyclable. MRcr2.1 and 2.2: 1 to 2 points: Construction Waste Management: After applying American Clay products any unused wet plaster can be dried and reused for touch-ups and repairs. This can be stored in the cloth bags. Also, the plaster cleaned up from inside the project can be mixed into the ground without harm to the environment. MRcr5.1 and 5.2: Regional Materials 2 points possible.

Our plasters are manufactured in New Mexico and if 10% of the project's building materials are manufactured with 500 miles of the project. A second point in a project can be obtained if the total percentage of the cost of ‘regional materials’ used in the project comprises at least 20% of the total project cost. MRcr6: Rapidly Renewable Materials (1 Point) one point is awarded if 2.5% of the total value of all building materials used in a project are rapidly is rapidly renewable material: American Clay's Mud Glue can help contribute to this total credit. EQcr4.2: Low Emitting Materials (1 Point) American clay Earth Plasters Mud Glue and Pigments have Zero VOCs. IDcrl-1.4: Innovation in Design: 1 Point: American Clay was awarded its' U.S. Patent in February of 2009, clearly establishing the unique quality of our formulations.
