Hello!
I produce beautiful works of art inspired through my heart and from my soul. Bringing to life the feeling of a tropical jungle, a gentle garden or birds soaring by the sea ... I paint animals, flowers, leaves and birds upon patterned and colorful backgrounds.
My work is as much print making as it is painting, as I use real leaves and palm fronds, woodblocks and silkscreens as well as brushes, hands, fingers and whatever it takes to make my magic come to life.
All of the canvas I use is 100% Organic Cotton that is USA Grown and USA Manufactured.
My favorite dye / color to work with... is a brown which I produce myself from Black Walnuts which I gather here in the local Santa Monica Mountains. I also make dyes from various berries, from spices such as annatto and turmeric and from boiling mineral pigments which I purchase from The American Clay Company (whose products are LEED Certified).
Also, I build all art framework right here in my own backyard using unprimed/raw wood, and when possible locally sourced bamboo and wood from friends and locations in Southern California.
My art is as much about making something beautiful as it is about making a difference. Knowing that my art breathes new life in multiple ways makes me happy.
My art brings into the home an appreciation, respect and celebration for Mother Nature and Life on Earth !
